Initial Concerns
D. Kaur came to me (Your urban naturopath) after an ultrasound revealed gallbladder stones, and surgery was strongly recommended. However, she was also dealing with a grade-II fatty liver, chronic digestion problems, that surgery, she felt, would not address. Rather than opting for an invasive procedure, she chose to pursue a holistic, naturopathy treatment to improve her overall health.
Primary Symptoms
- Severe acidity with acid reflux, especially at night when lying down
- Frequent nighttime headaches, likely acid-related, leading to poor sleep
- Persistent dry mouth and frequent waking to drink water
- Excessive gas, burping, nausea throughout the day, post-meal vomiting
- Chronic constipation
- Scanty, painful urination with occasional burning
- Long-standing pain and weakness in the left leg causing a limp. Inability to sit on the floor or stand for long durations
- Stiffness in all joints
Treatment Timelines
Naturopathy Treatment began: 13 November 2024- Till date with a break of 20 days in March
Follow-up Ultrasound: 12 March 2025
Follow-up Bloodwork: 12 April 2025
D. Kaur followed a personalized naturopathy treatment involving food-as-medicine, guided detoxification, and home-based therapies. This natural approach aimed not just to provide symptomatic relief but also to address the underlying causes of her various chronic symptoms. By month 3, the client started making changes in her kitchen for her entire family.
– Dietary Modifications: Her diet mainly consisted of fruits and vegetable juices in the initial days. Once the constipation broke and the cholesterol was normalised, lightly steamed vegetables and sprouts were added.
–Home-Based Naturopathy Therapies: Enemas, stomach bandages and castor oil packs were continuously used to cleanse the gut, and for musculoskeletal and abdominal relief. Later the client was taught how to take spinal baths at home. These aided her liver and digestion problems.
– Physical Activity: A tailored yoga sequence was incorporated to strengthen GUT muscles and improve overall mobility. Walking was mandatory.
Outcomes: Apr 2025
By March 2025, D. Kaur had experienced significant improvement in her digestive issues. Her acidic reflux and bad digestion issues were constantly being fixed, with acidity being almost zero. Chronic constipation was relieved, and her sleep pattern was returned to a certain degree. Kaur noticed a boost in her overall energy, and her musculoskeletal symptoms, started showing slow but consistent improvement. She could now walk and do personal errands more easily given her increased mobility. Her liver, kidneys were still an area of focus.
D. Kaur’s case shows how naturopathy therapy treats the body as a complete whole and promote long-term wellness.
